Ask most people why they chew gum today and you will hear, “to freshen my breath” or “to get a bad taste out of my mouth after a meal.” If you check out gum labels, you will find a there are a variety of benefits of chewing gum. The packet I have now in my bag says, “Proven to remove stains and whiten teeth.” Other unsurprising chewing gum benefits include: fighting cavities, strengthening teeth, neutralizing plaque acids, reducing gingivitis, and killing bad breath germs.
