We all want sex and love! In a healthy romantic relationship, there’s usually not much love without sex, or at least the lack of sex will most likely lead to some serious issues at some point. On that note, there’s definitely not much sex without certain chemicals called hormones. Read on for some explanations about why sex and love make us feel high and lead us to act in the strangest ways.

1. Why We Heart Cuddling Along With Sex and Love

Don’t get mad if he doesn’t want to cuddle as much as you do. The female urge to snuggle is correlated with the release of oxytocin – also known as the “cuddle” hormone. Women release much higher levels of oxytocin after sexual encounters than men, creating a feeling of closeness and comfort. Men, on the other hand, have lower levels of oxytocin, and their brains release a different surge of hormones that lead to wanting to sleep and relax.

So next time he passes out after sex while you’re trying to get him to hug and talk to you about the laundry list, cut him a break and know that he likes sex and love as much as you do.
